Pi'oboscis fully developed ; palpi upturned, the 2nd joint slender, reaching vertex of head and fringed with scales in front, the 3rd short; frons smooth; eyes large, i-ounded ; antenna; of male typically ciliated ; build slender; head and thorax clothed almost entirely with scales, the pro-- and meta- thorax with spreading crests ; legs moderately fringed with hair ; abdomen with dorsal crest at base only, i'ore wing rather short and broad, the apex rounded, the termen evenly curved and very slightly crenulate ; veins Z and 5 from near angle of cell; 6 from upper angle; 9 from 10 anastomosing with 8 to form the areole; 11 from cell. Hind wing with veins 3, 4 from angle of cell; 5 obsolescent from well below middle of discocellulars; 6, 7 shortly stalked ; 8 anastomosing with the cell near base only. Sect. I.
