Around the UK - Wild Cotton grass against a blue sky in the middle of summer on the tops of moors in Lancashire.

To see the vast areas of the cotton grass, blowing in the wind on the high moorland, makes the walk to the hilltops worthwhile. Sprigs of the 'cotton tree' are also featured on Darwen's Coat of Arms, but this refers to the days when the cotton industry was one of the town's main industries. One of a number of my images of the moorland around Lancashire that are available on Alamy.
