Print circa 1865 showing US President Abraham Lincoln on his deathbed surrounded by members of his Cabinet, Generals and family. Lincoln (1809 - 1865) was the 16th President of the United States of America (1861 - 1865) and the first to be assassinated. He was famously shot in the head by actor (and Confederate sympathiser) John Wilkes Booth while attending a show at Ford's Theatre in Washington DC on the evening of April 14 1865 and carried across the street to the Petersen House where he died the following day.
