Recruits from Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, navigate through an obstacle during Obstacle Course I at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, June 13. Recruits must use their strength to navigate over and under the logs while trying to maintain a low profile. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate Aug. 19.
