Beaver tail cloud feeding into a tornadic thunderstorm. Beaver tail clouds are a type of inflow or feeder band of cloud attached to the updraft (mesocyclone) of a supercell thunderstorm. Such cloud elements move towards and are drawn into the thunderstorm. If they are curved or are beginning to curve, they indicate that the storm is tornadic, meaning that a tornado is forming.
