I secured a yield of 304 bushels per acre of very nice tubers, resembling my Early Rose somewhat, but about four weeks later than the Rose. It is not an early potato, but a very good main crop variety of the Rose or Belle class. My Improved Early Rose on this farm yielded 496 bushels per acre. I will not say more regarding the Commercial; give it a trial, it perhaps may yield enormously on your soil. A grand new potato, originated by my friend, Marvin Bovee; also the originator of the Bovee potato. A Michigan seedling potato of great merit, and named in honor of Hazen S. Pingree, governor of Michigan, who is sometimes called the " potato ; My stock is the purest northern-grown. Potato Pingree is a beauty. The illustration does not do it justice. Most desirable of shape, neither too long nor too round, very smooth and regular in form, eyes shallow, and a white skin, with an unusually thick netting for so early a potato. Top, medium in size, but strong and spreading, tubers unusually close together in the hill, numerous, but attaining an edible size in remarkably quick time. Quality first-class, cooking \ip dry, white, and mealy, even before fully ripe. A grand yielder, and an extra early. PRICES: By mail, post-paid, lb. 20cts.,3 cts.
