The new process of making solidified oil for lubricating purposes, now being extensively exploited by the Bruck Solidified Oil Co., of356 Dover St., Boston, Mass., is attracting attention from practicalelectric railway men. Mr. Bruck, president of the company, reports. J. N. ItRICK. a recent successful business trip through the East and Middle Westand states he took orders for lubricants from electric railway com-panies in about 25 large cities. From the statement of Mr. Bruck we quote the following: Solidified oil is not a saponified grease but a pure oil—a refinedhibricating oil of the highest viscosity, low specific gravity, high firetest, and low cold test, and is supplied by us in a solidified form, convenient for use, economical, and especially adapted for railwaypurposes. Our process is new and does not destroy the lubricatingproperties of the oil by saponifying it; we do not saponify, and donot employ acids, alkalies or water, as is done in making greases, but instead, we turn out the solid product and guarantee it to bepure oil, and that it is not affected by heat or cold or destroyed bywater. We manufacture solidified oil especially for electric car motors, jourifals and gears, and it is now being used on such
