Looking through a port hole while scuba diving on the dive site Gregory
The Gregory, is a barge sunken in 1993, sitting upsidedown in about 50 feet/16 meters of water with a reef surrounding the wreck. The reef is not very high, but it offers a great variety of corals and sponges. The wreck itself is about 100 feet long and mostly intact. On the starboard side it has an opening offering an easy access to the interior of the wreck. For divers that would rather stay only on the outside of the wreck, the barge offers lots of port holes that allow the divers to peer inside. When diving around the Gregory is common to see scorpionfish, angelfish, snappers, parrotfish, grunts, filefish, barracudas, pufferfish, moray eels, southern stingrays and a plethora of yellowhead jawfish. Brave little sergeant majors have made their nests on the wall of the wreck, and they will swim towards you to protect their eggs. The walls are also a paradise for blennies. On the inside of the ship we see more creatures with nocturnal habits like fish with bigger eyes: squirrelfish, glass eyed snapper and others species of About creatures we may see caribbean spiny lobster, spotted lobster, spanish lobster and all kind of shrimp and crabs. A turtle or dolphin my show up to joyn the party of abundend marine life. So dive down, go nice and slowly to explore this beautiful wreck.
