London RAF Monument


Unveiled by Prince Charles in September 2005 the sculpture was created by Paul Day in honour of The Few The pilots of Great Britain and those from many other nations who defended Great Britain from the attempted German Invasion in 1940 which became known as the Battle of Britain The picture shows part of the frieze which depicts a family in an Anderson air raid shelter waiting for the all clear signal
