Eutelsat communications satellite, artwork. This is one of Eutelsat's W-series of satellites. This fleet of six communications satellites was launched between 1998 and 2004. Eutelsat is the leading communications satellite operator in Europe and the third largest in the world. Its first communications satellite was launched in 1983, and it currently (as of 2009) operates 26 such satellites, covering two-thirds of the globe.
