The boiler, dome, steam chests, cylin-ders and cylinder saddles are lagged withSal Mountain asbestos in order to reduceradiation and condensation to a mini-mum, as the engines are to be operated inthe mountains of Montana, where thetemperature frequently descends in in-verse ratio of the altitude.
