Riders board and exit a bus in Midtown Manhattan in New York
Buses in Midtown Manhattan in New York are seen on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. The Transit Workers Union, displeased that the Metropolitan Transit Authority, is appealing an arbitration panel ruling granting them a raise, staged two rallies on their proclaimed "Day of Outrage". A threatened work slowdown, illegal under the Taylor Law, never seemed to materialize as it was business as usual according the the MTA. The union went out on strike in the winter of 2005.
