A German hunting target crossbow, circa 1600 Sturdy iron prod with braided hemp string and remnants of the original tassels. Retained by cords with an interlaced iron suspension ring. Slightly bellied tiller made of walnut, the top and bottom veneered with engraved bone inlays, the sides with ornamentally carved scales. The quarrel groove is missing, the bone nut secured with cord, iron studs to support the cranequin.
