Another image taken 30 feet deep showed a close-up shot into the jaws of a hammerhead shark, while being surrounded by fish and photographers alike. Wildlife Photographer Jeff Joel (66) from Jupiter, Florida, USA, captured extraordinary shots of hammerhead sharks in Bimini, the Bahamas using a Nikon D850 full frame camera. Jeff dives and photographs sharks on quite a regular basis, multiple times a year, but he is still astonished by the images he captures. He decided to go to Bimini, the Bahamas specifically, in order to photograph the hammerhead sharks that are known to migrate through Bimini during the months of December through April. Chum was used to bait the sharks by trained shark handlers so that Jeff could capture these amazing creatures in their natural habitat. Jeff found getting that close to hammerhead sharks to be an adrenaline rush, but warns that people should never touch sharks and should always respect their space. ?I always get as close as possible to the action for the best shots?, he said. ?Being that close to an apex predator is quite the adrenaline rush. ?But I never touch sharks and no one else should either. ?I respect all sharks and I get as close as they will allow me Jeff enjoys experiencing the sharks in their natural environment and capturing them in a way that not a lot of people get to experience.
