Ruined building on the Corpse Road above Haweswater in Mardale, Cumbria.
The Mardale Valley and Haweswater Reservoir from the Corpse Road, in the English Lake District. The Corpse Road was so called as it was the path used by the residents of Mardale to carry their dead to the nearest consecrated ground which was in Shap. It was last used for such purposes in 1736. The High Street ridge forms the backdrop of the view.
