Rose Bay Willow herb prolific in hawthorn hedgerow in Lincolnshire Wolds

Since the disasterous years of ripping out miles of ancient hedging throughout the Country back in the fifties and sixties to increase crop production the error of this policy has been largely acknowledged. Today thousands of hedge-rows are being replaced to the benefit of the wild flora fauna, and not least for the prevention of soil erosion and blocking of snowdrifts on many of our isolated road networks in Lincolnshire and the rest of rural England.
