Memorial to a British soldier killed in Afghanistan mounted on the sea front at Walney Island, Cumbria, by his family


Sergeant Peter Thorpe was killed in a Taliban rocket attack in Sangin Province, Afghanistan, in 2006. His ashes were scattered on the foreshore near his childhood home on Walney Island, Cumbria, and his family erected this memorial bench nearby in his memory.
