PACIFIC OCEAN (Jan. 26, 2017) – Aerographer’s Mate 2nd Class Amber Richmond, Aerographer’s Mate 3rd Class Shon Azubike, and Aerographer’s Mate 3rd Class Nathan Shorter, all assigned to Fleet Weather Center San Diego take wind, speed, and direction observations during routine operations on board amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6). America is an aviation centric amphibious assault ship that supports Marine aviation requirements, from small-scale contingency operations of an expeditionary strike group, to forcible entry missions in major theaters of war.
