By placing the tuber in a shallow disli with a little Avater and gravel at the bottom, the same way as the Cliinese sacred lily giown in water, it products no flower but great clusters of dark pui ple coloured stems with rich green leaves, almost as ])retty as flowers, keeping the same appearance of beautiful growth nearly all through summer.
