Two swans form a heart with their necks on Lough Neagh, Ireland

Two whooper swans engage in a mating ritual on Lough Neagh. Whooper swans are increasingly rare on Lough Neagh, which is suffering from collapsing wildlife populations due to sand extraction and sewage dumping. Lough Neagh is the largest freshwater lake in the UK and many myths and legends are associated with it.
