AN ANECDOTE FROM LIFE Theres a (hunk man on the corner, called my nine-year-old neigh-bour us I walked toward the bus stop. But he wasnt a man. And he wasnt drunk. He WOS just a boy. perhaps fifteen, with twisted limbs, almost unmanagable. whose head tossed at agrotesque angle. I/is bodily contortions, his grimaces, and his rolling eyescould easily make a youngster believe he zcas drunk. Is the bus approached, a man standing nearest the street started toboard it. and then stepped back to allow the crippled boy to enter the boy, with a grotesque bow and gesture, indicated that I shouldprecede him. Member of a hated race (hated by many people, just ongeneral principles). and lacking all the physical graces, he did not forgetto be a gentleman.
