19th April 2017 - London, UK: Guarani leader Ladio Veron led a demonstration for his people's rights at the Brazilian embassy in London, UK. On Brazil’s Day of the Indian, they call for action against the theft of the Guarani’s land and the trashing of their human rights and call on Brazil to give its indigenous peoples a chance to survive. Most of the Guarani’s ancestral land has been stolen for ranching and agribusiness. They now face violence, disease, and the highest suicide rate in the world. Brazilian politicians are now discussing a series of plans which would drastically weaken indigenous land protection, spelling disaster for the Guarani and other tribes across the nation.
