An Ottoman gold-inlaid karabela, 18th century Single-edged blade (pitted) with double fullers on both sides and a broadened, double-edged point. The obverse side with inscription cartouches, inlaid in gold, with the pseudo-date "917" (1511). Silver grip (of later date?) profusely embossed with ornaments and leafy vine designs, the quillons with languets and two three-dimensional dragon heads sculpted on the side.
