Fluoroscopy revealed a purse stringconstriction near the pylorus. It appearednot unlike a deep peristaltic wave but itwas constant (Fig. 2). The real peristalticwaves ran through it. Palpation made noimpression on it and pain was elicited ondeep pressure over this area. A series ofplates were taken and another fluoroscopicobservation was made later, but the con-striction still persisted. There was no sixhour residue or other roentgen evidenceof organic disease.
