With a big rise in visitors post-lockdown, and Lake District roads being blocked, the National Trust is trying to prevent careless parking
Visitors numbers to the Lake District shot up after the coronavirus lockdown was lifted. The increase was accompanied by a number of problems including careless parking. Several roads were blocked by badly parked cars, preventing access to emergency vehicles. The National Trust has taken action in some places. Here, along the western shore of Windermere, the conservation charity is securing logs along the grass verge.
