Caption: Soldiers construct a bridge at Post Field, Fort Sill, Oklahoma during World War I. The bridge, built at the cost of one dollar per foot of material, is 300 feet long, 20 feet high, and comprises 14 spans. It provides a shortcut across Cache Creek, reducing travel distance by nearly ten miles. Due to the creek's rising water levels, a sturdy structure was necessary.
