Air Force Maj. Gen. Sherrie McCandless, commanding general, District of Columbia National Guard, joins members of the Army and Air National Guard in raising their hats during the Washington Nationals’ Salute to Service on Aug. 13, 2021. The Nationals dedicate a special game each season to honor and celebrate each branch of the military and McCandless, who is also a veteran fighter pilot, was selected to represent servicemembers during National Guard Day at the stadium.
