Vaxholm Fortress at Vaxholm in the Stockholm archipelago, in Sweden


The Vaxholm Fortress was built to serve as a Swedish coastal defence , with special attention given to the defence of the Stockholm archipelago. Construction work was started in 1544, on direct order from King Gustav Vasa of Sweden. It now serves as a museum.
