A Sailor assigned to the small-caliber action team mans his station as the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) transits the Strait of Gibraltar in the Mediterranean Sea Feb. 26, 2014. The Mesa Verde deployed with embarked Marines assigned to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility.
