Demolition of buildings in Lime Street, Liverpool to make way for new development. A campaign to save the Georgian styled Facade of the Futurist Picture House, was rejected and was the first building to be demolished. Lime Street, made famous in the folk song 'Maggie May', is deemed the gateway to Liverpool for travelers arriving at Lime Street Railway Station. Popular public houses Shamrock and The American Bar are being demolished alongside the Futurist.
