Cathedral of St Andrew, Amalfi, Italy

Amalfi Cathedral, a 9th-century Roman Catholic cathedral, is situated in the Piazza del Duomo, Amalfi, Italy. It is dedicated to the Apostle Saint Andrew whose relics are believed to be kept there. Reconstructed in the 13th century, the cathedral has subsequently been remodelled on several occasions. Although the very ornate facade collapsed in the mid 19th century it was rebuilt using polychromatic marbles and mosaics in the original 13 th century style.
