The interrupterless coil, or transformer, as it isusually designated now, is the newest, the easiest tooperate and the most powerful X-ray machine thusfar made. Let us consider the former first: The converter is set in motion bythe commercial direct current. It generates an alternating current whichis sent through the primary of the transformer. The induced current inthe secondary is of the proper voltage and amperage for X-ray work,but it is alternating. It should be direct. It is made so by means of the X-RAY MACHINES 39 rectifying switch, and is then an ideal current for X-ray work.
