U Siemensdamm U-Bahn Underground railway station interior on the U7 line in the Spandau district, Berlin. It opened on 1 October 1980 when the line was extended from Richard-Wagner-Platz to Rohrdamm. It was designed by architect Rainer ümmler and circular murals depict the achievements of the Siemens company The station name on the green walls is based on the Siemens logo. It is named after Werner von Siemens who founded the Siemens AG company The station is built as a "Multi-Purpose Facility". It was also designed for use as a NBC shelter that could sustain 4,332 people for 14 days in the event of chemical, biological or nuclear attack.
