These peaks, ranking with the most difficult ofEuropean mountains, should be attempted only by expertclimbers, with a well-organized party of Swiss guides andunder favorable weather conditions. To Moraine Lake, Wenkchemna Lake, and over the Was-tach Pass, thence by Paradise Valley to chalet (about 25 Page Thirty-seven miles) is a magnificent walk, with no climbing difficulties, but is only recommended to strong walkers, as being some-what too long for the average ability. This trip might bemade easier by taking saddle horses as far as Moraine is a combination of several excursions described elsewhere, and gives a great variety of highly interesting scenery. Page Thirty-eight. LAKE OHARA AND MOUNT LEFROY PART IV. LAKE OHARA REGION. Lake OHara and the upper part of Cataract Brook Valleyare unexcelled by any part of the mountains in variety andbeauty of scenery. Though somewhat less rugged than theValley of the Ten Peaks, and less grand than Paradise Val-ley or Lake Louise, this region appeals more strongly to theartist and the camper. Meadows, forests, and lakes are herecombined in pleasing variety in a broad valley surroundedby mountains of strong and impressive outlines. It is pos-sible to visit Lake OHara hurriedly in one day, but the vis-itor is strongly advised to spend at least one night in camp,so as to do at least partial justice to this very interestingregion. The lake may be visited most conveniently by taking thetrain to Hector station, where horses and guides, previouslyarranged for, should be met. Hector may also be reachedby direct trail from the chalet (on foot or horseback) i
