Memorial of Operation Arsenal on Dluga Street in Warsaw, Poland.


Operation Arsenal was the name given to an action by the "Grey Ranks" – Polish scout resistance organization - which took place on 26 March 1943 in Warsaw. A group of boy scouts attacked a German prison van that was transporting Polish political prisoners from the Gestapo Headquarters to the Pawiak prison, and successfully freed their comrade Jan Bytnar and 24 others.
