For the next fouryears he practised his profes-sion in the City of Guadala-jara, Jalisco, removing, in1913, to Ixtlan del Rio, in theState of Tepic. It was fromhere that he returned toEngland to put his services atthe disposal of the BritishGovernment. Ballamy, Captainon the Regimental Staff ofthe 103d Engineers, was killednear Fismes, on Aug. 9, 1918. Captain Ballamy was bornat Plymouth, Pa., in 1886 andgraduated from the HighSchool of that town in the following year he beganwork as a coal miner, and atthe same time began the study of mining engineering in the evening andany other spare time. He continued this diligent and energetic practicefor many years. For sixteen years he continued in the employment ofthe Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad Companys coal mining Captain John H.
