Wine cooler (one of a pair) ca. 1735–36 Elias Adam German These wine coolers (see also , b) were produced in China for export to Europe. While the decoration is Chinese in origin, the form is western and is probably based on a silver example. The mounts by the Augsburg silversmith Elias Adam enhance the luxurious nature of the coolers and reflect the continuing appreciation for Chinese porcelain in the eighteenth Wine cooler (one of a pair) 211391
