The matter was likely settledout of court, as arbitrators were appointed to reconcile the parties.^^^ ? SYBRANT CORNELISSEN. DUYTS. 193 uary 31, in that year, he made a declaration, at the request of onePaul Pietersen, in regard to a quarrel between Maritie Tomas andTryntie Martens, the wife of Paul.*^^ Sybrant Cornelissen was from Flensburg in Denmark, as welearn from a notice of July 17, 1664, stating that he, on that date,was appointed assistant surgeon, and that he was to be employedin shaving, bleeding, and administering medicine to the soldiers.*^*In other words, Sybrant appears to have been an old-time barber-surgeon.
