Mathias Schumacher(1893 - 1966),a standing female nude with outspread arms Bronzed plaster, separable in the middle, both arms removeable. Monogrammed and dated on the plinth,"MS 43". Height with plinth 240 cm. Minor damage to the plinth and edges, partially restored. During the war, bronze was a critical material for arms production, and so it was in short supply. For that reason, artists used plaster. Cf. a similar statue by this artist at Hermann Historica,52nd auction, lot 7496.
