Themotor is supported as shown. On an extension of the armature shaft is a sleeve, to whichtwo gears are keyed. The handwheel slides this sleeve alongthe shaft and throws either gear in mesh with the correspond-ing gear on the short auxiliary shaft according to the speeddesired. The patent head furnishes three speed changes, which incombination with the two driving shaft speeds furnish 6mechanical speed changes. This in combination with a North-.
