At last variations in re- spect to color and size of the flowers appear to be developing from the type. In the novelty here offered not only do the flowers come consid- erably larger than any hitherto known, but they are of an intense dark violet hue, from which the golden yellow anthers stand out in beautiful eontrast. Pkt., 35 cts. SALVIA SPLENDENS, Silverspot. The most distinctive feature of this new variety is its strikingly handsome, spotted foliage. The leaves are a rich, soft, dark green, with light sulphur or cream colored spots of various size liberally sprinkled over them. The intense, bright scarlet flowers are very large, and the plants of neat, compact habit and as floriferous as the ordinary sort. Pkt., 40 cts. TROP/EOLUM LOBBIANUM.
