In Lisbon during the last quarter of 2022 the number of homes that could be available for rent or purchase was the lowest in the last 15 years. It was reported that rents in the capital rose 37% in early 2023. According to the Residential Information System there is no shortage of homes in the city but rising real estate prices and rents along with available income have made it difficult for most people to find housing in Lisbon.
