It affects the parts most exposed to the air ;the face, neck, chest, and back down to the level of theclavicles, or even the third rib, the backs of the hands, fore-arms and upper arms. The hands, face, and neck are mostmarkedly diseased, while a few cases have occurred uponthe legs and backs of the feet. It begins with erythematouspatches, like those produced by sunburn.
