A good while after, the GreatNorthern Railway was opened and its Castlebellinghamstation located in Drumleck townland. An old byroad leadingtowards it from Dromiskin was improved and taken overby the Grand Jury, mainly through the influence ofMr. Burton Brabazon, then Sub-Sheriff, and Chairman of theDundalk Steam Packet DROMISKIN ROUND TOWER, 183040. Stubbs died at theRectory 25 October, 1866. aged 72, and was buried in Dundalk,where there is a memorial of him in the church of which hehad been Curate. He was succeeded by Rev. Joseph Chamney, 218 Chap. V.—Dromiskin Parish. , who was instituted on December 3, 1866, and inductedon 5 January, 1867, by the Rev. R. Hamilton, Rector ofDundalk. He continued Rector for the long period of 38years and 6 months until July 30, 1905, when he retired fromthe active service of the Ministry. A few years after he had been appointed to the parishthe Church of Ireland was disestablished. Burton Brabazonand Richard Morgan were elected as Synodsmen to representthe parish in Armagh Diocesan Synod, and a Select Vestrywas also formed. At the time (Eccl. Com.
