ATLANTIC OCEAN (Oct. 31, 2018) Marines assigned to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) prepare to embark helicopters aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) to conduct an amphibious assault exercise during the Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 4 composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX). COMPTUEX is the final pre-deployment exercise that certifies the combined Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group's and 22nd MEU's abilities to conduct military operations at sea and project power ashore through joint planning and execution of challenging and realistic training scenarios.
