The number of delegates permitted each college was proportionate tothe enrollment. The twelve representing DePauw were selected by a committeecomposed of two faculty members and the presidents and vice-presidents ofY. M. and Y. W. C. A. They were chosen on the basis of religious interest andleadership qualities. Student Volunteer Conventions are held every four years or once during astudent generation except that the last one was held sixyears agobecause of the thousand delegates, representing practically every country in the worldwere present. Prominent men who addressed the convention were John , Robert E. Speer, and Sherwood Eddy. 151 MIRAGE
