It some- times happens, even if the bees are well packed up at the start, that leaks will occur in some of the hives after they are hauled some dis- tance. If only a bee or two escapes, and the one with the smoker is at hand, the leak may be stopped without removing the team from the wagon. If it is hot weather and a considerable number of bees are getting out, it is better to remove the team from the wagon at once, while the repairing is taking place. Bees that escape from the hives during the period of moving, are not usually in a stinging mood, still, one should not take too many chances, but keep the bees in the hives if possible.
