Marines at Nui Dang International, located 30 miles south of Can Isi, use the small, muddy heliport for Operation Dodato in the Vietnam War. The heliport serves as a key communications hub for the transportation of troops and supplies via helicopters, namely the Marine Corps' A421650 127 GVB-168 aircraft.
