A gold-inlaid Ottoman karabela, circa 1700 Wootz-Damascus(?) blade, pitted in places, with wide fullers on each side and a broadened double-edged point. A long inscription inlaid in gold within the fuller on the obverse side beneath three slanted cartouches. Three inscription fields at the base of the blade on the opposite side. Iron Persian quillons (19th century) with stylised dragon finials. Grip with finger grooves. Brass grip frame with chased floral designs.
