Coast Guard-Manned LST Heads Into French Coast. A section of the French shoreline is photographed from a Coast Guard-manned LST moving in to the beach to make connection with a rail spur jutting to the water's edge. When the union is complete, rail cars resting on the vessels track-equipped tank deck will rose ashore to start operation on the Army Transportation Corps' vast network which supplies Allied Armies on the western front. The Tank Landing Ship serves as a floating link between railroads in England and France.
